Radioembolisation: dosimetry and administration systems
Radioembolisation or SIRT is an increasingly performed treatment for both primary and secondary liver tumors. In these hands-on device training sessions participants will get to experience the administration systems belonging to the three different commercially available microspheres for radioembolisation, as well as several software options for performing dosimetry (making a treatment plan).
The sessions will feature:
Administration systems for Yttrium-90 and Holmium-166 microspheres
- Setting up the system
- Delivering microspheres
- Safe disposal after delivery
Software for dosimetry
- Contouring the desired volumes of interest
- Assessing lung shunt
- Making a treatment plan
These sessions aim to provide an insight to the available tools as well as to allow hands-on experience for the participants. After a short introduction by the coordinators, participants will have the opportunity to get to know the equipment in an interactive setting.
